The November edition of the Photogenic Stride contest ended announcing a winner and two runners up from Nigeria and Kenya for this edition with over 30 contestants from various African countries.
Meet Gloria Isaiah the winner of the November edition
The winner Gloria Isaiah won with 3682.5 votes. The 21 year old Nigerian hails from the Igede tribe in Benue State. She is a student studying Banking and Finance/Marketing in the University of Jos in Plateau State. Gloria is a very hardworking and determined young lady who has great passion for fashion, music, and acting. She has a flair for meeting new people and getting to know and is also an excellent communicator and a people’s person.
Meet Akpan Emilia the first runner up
Also from Nigeria, Akpan Emilia is from Akwa Ibom. She is also a student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Banking and Finance in the University of Jos, Nigeria. Emilia was one of the contestants for the October edition of the Photogenic Stride, who heard about the contest through a friend of hers. She was able to achieve this feat through the help of her friends who assisted her in the voting process. As one who loves and wants to be a fashion designer, Emilia does not have plans of pursuing modelling as a full time career although she does have a side hustle of dying hair. She had a total of 3239 votes.
Meet Grace Wanjiru Chege the second runner up
From Kenya, lives in Nairobi Grace finished the November edition with 3153.5 votes. The 29-year old went to Kibondeni college and did a one year course in Hotel Management and has had various job opportunities in hotels. In an interview with Afridesk, Grace revealed that she has always had passion for modelling as she has trained in a modelling agency in Kenya and also has a mouth-watering modelling portfolio. She has also participated in an online African Hair Contest called “Seensta”, in which she won. For Grace, being a model is the best career she would choose, as she has the height, body and pose. She got to know about Afrisquare through her cousin and this will be her third time contesting for the Photogenic Stride contest. Grace plans to pursue modelling full time and hopes that the Afrisquare platform will take her modelling career to a next level.
