By the first 10 months of 2022, Morocco saw the creation of exactly 77,322 businesses according to data from the Moroccan office of Industrial and Commercial Property.

52,968 of the new businesses are registered as legal entities while 24,354 are self employed, the OMPIC stated in a general overview. 

The trade sector has the most prominent business growth with 36.42% of new companies registered as trade companies, followed by construction, public works and real estate activities. 

The industrial sector contributed 7.12% of newly created businesses while the hotels and restaurants had a share of 6.46%. 

Information technology and communication represented 2.59%, agriculture and fishery represented 2.22% and the financial sector represented 1.10%

62% of these newly created businesses are registered as limited liability companies with a single shareholder while 37.6% of companies are limited liability companies. Also, 0.3% are listed as joint stock companies and 0.1% as general partnership.

21,000 of the newly created businesses are based in the Casablanca-Settat region, followed by Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima with more than 10,000. Rabat-Sale-Kenitra with more than 10,000, Marrakech-Safi with over 7,000 and Fez-Meknes with nearly 6,000 new businesses.

This amount of newly created businesses is substantially greater than that of last year.
