Agreements focused on youth development have been signed between the French and Senegalese ministers in an effort to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

This took place in an intergovernmental seminar held by the two countries in Champs-Sur-Marne outside of Paris to discuss several issues at hand.

The two countries outlined major steps on their implementation as dozens of other agreements were met.

The plan hopes to address issues of education, sport and culture, economic development, sustainable agriculture as well as defence and security, and the Senegal borders affected by terrorism and migration.

The previous Franco-Senegalese seminar was held in 2019 in Dakar before it was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

As Senegal’s leading investor and biggest trading partner, the French Development Agency (AFD) has committed almost $2.2 billion in Senegal since 2007 with all financial products and sectors combined.
