In the just rounded up FIFA World cup, Morocco was among the semi-finalists, coming out 4th overall.

On Saturday night, the 10th of December, 2022, Morocco played against Portugal winning with one score against their zero, qualifying them for the semi-finalist position. This made Morocco the first African nation to get to the semi-finals in the FIFA world cup. 

Morocco made history. Sadly, they were defeated by france.

Morocco will be awarded with a total sum of $25 million as prize money for coming in as 4th place.

Other African countries that won prize money are Tunisia, Cameroon and Ghana who exited at group stage and won $9 million each. Senegal made it through to the round of 16 and won $13 million.
