On Thursday 29th December, the Egyptian cabinet signed several proposals that supports the deployment of renewable energy and green hydrogen in various regions of the country.
This was decided upon during a meeting held at the New Administrative capital headed by Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, as it also decided to allocate a portion of the state-owned land in the Matrouh Governorates.
The National body authorized to offer the land to investors under the Usufruct scheme is the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA).
In order to drive the new wind projects, a number of land plots in Southern Egypt (Sohag and Aswan Governorates) were made available.
To further establish production capacities for green and hydrogen and green ammonia, the cabinet also approved the allocation of large portion of land in Matrouh.
