A new automobile assembly plant has been opened by a Nigerian company in Ezimo Enugu State, Nigeria. This assembly plant sits on 600 plots of land.
The Federal Government recently approved the indigenous company to assemble vehicles in Nigeria.
The vision of this company as disclosed by Professor Ortuanya is in tandem with the cardinal policies of the recent governor of the state, Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s administration in investment promotion and protection of life and property.
They have about 11 brands of vehicles and they are all assembled in Nigeria. The company donated one of its vehicles to the Enugu State Government to ascertain its durability, flexibility and strength.
Ingrace Motors is a vehicle assembling company with the “we can do it in Nigeria” spirit. The importation of cars from developed countries or still developing countries, sets the economy of the nation backwards. Apart from the cost of importation being too high, some vehicles are not up to standard and may break down and require change of engine so quickly into the use of it.
Another problem that comes from the importation of vehicles is that not assembling the vehicles in the country inadvertently reduces job opportunities. A nation having its own assembly plant creates job opportunities for the citizens as they are able to work in the assembly plant. It also boosts the economy of the nation by bringing in more revenue.
This development is a welcomed one as the company will build the cars to suit the roads in the country and there will not be constant breakdowns owing to using cars that have been used over and over again in another country. The affordability of the commodity is also one of the reasons the country is open to this new development.
