Cameroonian artist, Libianca becomes the first Cameroonian to make it to the US Afrobeat Billboard Chart, with her debut song “People”.

Before now, precisely the first week of January her song was number 9 on the top 10 US Afrobeat Billboard Chart, the song is currently 2nd on the chart.

Other African artist and their songs on chart include Rema; ‘Calm down’ ft Selena Gomez, Burnaboy’s ‘Last Last’, Wizkid’s Essence ft Justin Bieber, Temz- ‘Free Minds’, Ckay- ‘Love Nwantiti’, Oxlade- ‘Kulosa’, with Burna Boy and Tems appearing twice on the chart.

Libianca shared this great win on her social media page, saying “we are going somewhere we have never been but God is taking us so I am alright…, 2023 will be higher heights and more music to share”.

With the numbers going up by the day, her song ‘People’ has over 300 thousand videos on Tik Tok in less than a month after a snippet was released.

The singer was born in America although has a Cameroonian nationality, she is a songwriter and performer. She is quite popular for singing in a reality show known as The Voice Season 21. She is from Bamenda in Cameroon but resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She works as a mixing engineer, songwriter and music director.
