CNN is a multinational cable news channel headquartered in Atlanta. Earlier this year, CNN wrote an article that listed Uganda as the best destination to visit in the year 2023. Twenty three destinations were in that list and among those twenty three, four African countries were listed.
Uganda is the pearl of Africa and it has a unique location at the center of sub-Saharan Africa. It is an intersection of Africa’s different landscapes, peoples, wildlife, weather and scenery. It has almost everything you will find in the different regions of Africa which is why it is sometimes referred to as mini-Africa.
It has more than half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking gives you an opportunity to see the gorillas in the jungle, a unique experience that brings you face to face with real life “king kong”. The mountain gorilla is found in just three countries in the world with Uganda having half of its population.
The African big five; Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant and Rhino can be seen in Uganda. A trip to the Murchison Falls National Park and Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and you can tick off seeing the big five in just three days.
Uganda also has the best weather in the world with moderate temperatures averaging 23 degree celsius – 25 degree celsius. It is located along the equator receiving direct sun but has lots of water bodies, greenery and highlands that keep the weather warm.
Their scenery is also spectacular. You will witness different landscapes and scenery in almost every region of the country. The scenery changes dramatically with every change of location.
They are also known for their diverse culture, friendliness and warm reception. They have amazing local cuisine and fresh foods and fruits owing to their fertile soil.
They also have the biggest lake with sandy beaches. It is a proud home to the source of the longest river in the world, the River Nile. The Ugandans love to party, hence, their vibrant nightlife; they barely go to sleep at night. The most attractive thing about it is the fact that it is not a crowded destination.
The other African countries that were listed are; Rwanda, Tanzania and Egypt.
