Participants of the second season of the Covers Africa Music TV Show had arrived Lagos on January 12, 2023 to audition for a spot in the show for this season, as registration for the season 2 audition had been closed.
This was announced in a statement released by the organisers on their official handle.
The second season will feature some of Africa’s biggest music performers who will drill and groom the participants at various stages of the show, as said by the Chief Operating Officer/Executive Producer of the show, Daisy Okwa.
The general audition was held on Thursday 12th of January, at the Ultima Studios in Lekki, Lagos State, Nigeria, where all the contestants had their first shot at fame.
At the screening stage which was fixed for January 14, contestants were required to slug it out with other contenders, and if successful will make it to the live show which was the final stage.
At the final stage, songs were chosen by the panel of Covers Africa for each contestant in order to test their musical prowess and give a spot.
Naomi Mac and Segun Obe are the official voice coaches for the show, VJ Adams from Soundcity and BBN ex-housemate, Bam Bam teamed up as hosts for the show.
Earlier on, the organisers had revealed the judges for the show, as includes; musicologist, Ben Ogbeiwi alias Uncle Ben, Nigerian Nollywood actor, film director and music lover, Daniel Etim Efiiong, Nigerian award-winning television and radio presenter, Simi Drey and Music Producer, Efe Macroc.
Covers Africa Music TV Show is a 13-week long show organised to empower upcoming music acts by showcasing their creativity through the talent of other established musicians in the industry.
The show will be aired and promoted across top media channels in Africa.
