Aphiwe Hlatshwayo a South African student recently had 6 distinctions in her matric exams. This got her an offer to study in the United States of America. But Miss Aphiwe gracefully turned down that offer.
She attended Reddford House The Hills in Pretoria. As head, girl, she spent a lot of her time organizing school events, representing the school and serving its pupils. This made her first and second term marks drop. She then strived to turn things around, she had to do some self reflection and realign herself with her goals.
This led Aphiwe to bagging 6 distinctions, ranking top 5% Independent Examinations Board nationally for several subjects. This led to her acceptance to study anatomy at Seattle University in the US for four years, and another four years in medicine as part of its postgraduate programme.
She however turned it down as she would prefer to study at the University of Cape Town as she thinks she’ll get more support there.
