During an investment partnership forum on Thursday, the Indonesian Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment revealed its plan to make Kenya an African export hub.

The Deputy of investment coordination and mining at the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Septian Hario Seto delivered a statement during the BRI Micro Finance Outlook 2023.

It stated that the East African countries are a free market, with the potential in making Kenya an export hub in Africa in the future.

He asserted that Kenya is one of the African countries whose economy has shown a level of development, as the East African countries also have the East African Economy Community.

The East African Economy Community comprises six countries namely Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, Congo, Kenya, and Tanzania, with a total of $41 billion in gross domestic product.

The Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan disclosed the creation of a joint task force to strengthen bilateral relations and mutually beneficial cooperation.

He said Indonesia has allocated a wealth of natural resources and is ready to share its best experience and practices with Kenya in all sectors.
