Recently, continuous praises and commendations have been showered in the social media space, with the majority of such commendations coming from Twitter, over the Four-tier interchange road located in Accra, Ghana. A video tweet by @AfricanFactsZone on Twitter with over one million views and one thousand retweets and quote tweets on the importance of Accra city’s four-tier interchange road. They commended the African Development Bank and the Ghanaian government for an amazing road network that was constructed in a budget-friendly and timely manner.

Meanwhile, African Development Bank President, Mr. Akinwumi Adesina has showered massive praises on the Ghanaian government and other stakeholders for putting to good use the loan ADB gave for the Pokuase interchange and roads project.
African Development Bank has given a loan of $83.9 million for the construction of the Pokuase Interchange and road project. This fund was formally budgeted to construct a three-tier Interchange but was later changed to a four-tier Interchange road network with the same budget. Mr. Adesina also commended the speed at which it was delivered as it was constructed within three years and how the Ghanaian government did put the money to benefit the people.
FIDIC COMMENDS THE GREAT WORK CARRIED OUT IN THE POKUASE FOUR-TIER INTERCHANGE WITH AWARDS.
Moreso, the Ghanaian Minister for Roads and Highways, Mr. Kwasi Amoako-Attah, and a host of other stakeholders have received an award from the International Federation of Consulting Engineers Contract Users Conference (FIDIC) for the Pokuase Interchange roads and projects thereby naming it the most commendable project.
The FDIC also pointed out the excellent use of the FDIC contract forms by the Contractors and Engineers in executing the project alongside international best practices.
THE POKUASE FOUR-TIER INTERCHANGE IS THE FIRST IN WEST AFRICA AND THE SECOND LARGEST IN AFRICA.
The Pokuase Interchange embodies a four-level stack interchange road network located at Pokuase Junction, in Accra Ghana. This became the largest in West Africa and second in Africa upon completion in 2021.
