According to the Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement (UPA) Bahaa El-Din Zidan said on Wednesday that Egypt plans to become Africa’s hub in the pharmaceutical industry.
The chairman disclosed this while giving his remark at a preparatory meeting put together by UPA to announce the launch of the second edition of the Africa Health ExCon 2023 scheduled to hold from 7th to 10th June.
Egypt has a capable number of specialists in the medical sector “who possess great expertise, but on isolated islands, stating “the conference aims to gather these experiences”, said Zidan.
Zidan in his speech stressed the importance of Africa Health ExCon in promoting a unified vision for the healthcare sector in Africa as it will create an opportunity to exchange expertise and information in this field.
He further noted that major world pharmaceutical companies have shown interest in participating in the event to explore trade opportunities and investment available in Africa’s healthcare sector.
The conference which would be held under the theme “Your Gate to Innovation and Trade”, will be organized by the UPA at the Egpyt International Exhibition Center (EIEC) under H.E. President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s patronage.
