Malawi’s High Commission in Tanzania organized a cultural day event for Malawians on Friday 3rd, 2023 in Der es Salaam, Tanzania in a bid to foster Malawian culture and unity amongst those living in the diaspora.

The event which was part of the diaspora engagement had many high personals in attendance ranging from members of academia, business gurus, government officials, and individuals from the arts and craft community among others.

During the event, Malawi’s High Commissioner in Tanzania, Andrew Kumwenda urge Malawians to maintain unity and oneness among themselves and encouraged them to normalize investing back in Malawi.

He continued and said that he believes Malawians can only go forward if they work together in achieving one goal.

Quoting Kumwenda, he said, “we need to make sure that we help each other in our shortfalls and also remember to invest back home to improve other’s livelihood there”.

The highlight of the event that caught the attention of many was that participants had the opportunity to enjoy Malawian dances and some of their favorite local dishes.

The 2023 Malawi Cultural day event in Tanzania had its major sponsor Vodacom Tanzania and was graced with performances from a number of talented musicians including Malawi’s Che Wikise, and afro-pop artist Pop Young.
