With the setback that has hit Turkey and Syria, many countries have queued up to help the countries, which shows empathy and solidarity.
Among the countries willing to help is Algeria. A team of 86 specialized civil protection personnel will head to Syria at the behest of the Algerian president, Abdelmadjid Tebboune. SANA announced the dispatch of the team and that they will participate in rescue operations, evacuating victims of the earthquake, using means in accordance with international standards required by the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group.
President Tebboune, in a cable sent to President Bashar al-Assad, emphasized that the Algerian government and people stand by the Syrian people in light of these complicated circumstances, and their readiness to provide assistance and to exert every effort that would alleviate the effects of this disaster.
Algeria also sent a group of 89 specialized civil protection agents to Turkey at the direction of the President of the republic to help in rescue and relief operations. This was announced by the Minister of the Interior, Local Communities, and Territorial Planning, Brahim Merad.
The minister emphasized the strong commitment of the Algerian state to international cooperation and assistance, particularly in the face of natural disasters. He highlighted the personal attention given to this operation by the President of the Republic, who is closely monitoring the situation.
This outpouring of support from Algeria demonstrates the country’s commitment to helping its neighbors in times of need and upholding the principles of international cooperation and humanitarian aid.
Algeria has also sent 210 tonnes of humanitarian aid to both countries.
