• Kamala Harris, the Vice President of the United States, is embarking on a week-long trip to Africa, visiting Ghana, Tanzania, and Zambia.
  • The vice president to meet with business and philanthropic leaders, to discuss major issue pertaining Africa countries.

The visit is seen as an effort to counterbalance China’s influence on the continent. Harris will focus on economic development, climate change, food security, and the rising youth population.

She plans to visit a recording studio and meet with women entrepreneurs in Accra, as well as stop by a tech incubator in Dar es Salaam.

In Lusaka, Harris is expected to meet with business and philanthropic leaders to discuss expanding access to digital and financial systems.

She will give a major speech in Ghana’s capital, Accra, and engage with young people in the country, as well as meeting with Tanzania’s first woman president to highlight the country’s efforts to solidify its democracy and institute governing reforms.

In Zambia, there will be discussions on entrepreneurship, food security, and other issues that dominate conversations in Africa.

In the capital of Ghana she plans to engage with a lot of young people in the country and to render a major speech on the need of Africa’s development. She is also focused a lot on the rising youth generation in Africa.
