The Cheaitou Brothers of Liberia have established the first mayonnaise factory in the country, called the Blue Lake Mayonnaise on Freeport Road in Monrovia the country’s capital. This new development is anticipated to reduce the rate of unemployment in Liberia.
Established in 1999, Cheaitou Brothers Incorporated is a wholesale importer of frozen and fish products in Liberia, headed by three managing directors Mr. Houssein Cheaitou, Mr. Jihad Cheaitou, and Mrs. Hayat Cheaitou. They have been in the business of trading with fish and frozen products for over 22 years.
A ceremony was held to celebrate the grand opening of the establishment, which attracted dozens of dignitaries including the First Lady of Liberia Madam Clar Marie Weah, and among others diplomats, bankers, and business executives.
Mr. Houssein Cheaitou the CEO of Blue Lake Manufacturing Incorporated said that he was motivated to change the business world by making high-quality mayonnaise that appeals to all palates. He noted that the new brand of mayonnaise is available in the Liberian market and that it will not only offer a superior substitute but also support a decrease in the importation of such products from abroad. He claimed that the mayonnaise sold in Liberia was of poor quality and that people, particularly diabetics, shied away from it because it was either too salty, fatty, acidic, or sour.
The opening of Blue Lake Manufacturing Incorporated, Liberia’s first mayonnaise factory, was celebrated by the country’s first lady, Madam Clar Marie Weah. She praised the Cheaitou brothers for building the Blue Lake Mayonnaise, Liberia’s first mayonnaise factory, calling the project a tremendous boost to the country’s economy. The Liberian First Lady also applauded the Cheaitou brothers’ efforts to increase employment possibilities for many Liberians and to strengthen the economy of the nation.
She added that she was thrilled that she had suggested the name “Blue Lake” for the company because she adored the Blue Lake in Bomi County. She went on to say that the brand name Blue Lake Mayonnaise will encourage more Liberians to purchase the product.
Speaking on behalf of the President and the Liberian people, Hon. George Wesseh Blamoh, Acting Chair of the Cabinet and Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, thanked investors for having faith in President George Manneh Weah’s ability to lead Liberia’s economy. He urged other well-intentioned companies to invest and create other factories in Liberia as the Cheaitou brothers had done. He emphasized the significant investment potential of the economy.
