The Nationwide League One (NLO) unveiled its new technology to support agents/scouts’ work ahead of the 2023 season.
The Nationwide League One (NLO), Nigeria’s third-tier football league, has stated plans to employ a new technological innovation to aid player agents’ and scouts’ work ahead of the 2023 season scheduled to commence on May 3rd, 2023 at Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
The NLO said that using a digital platform that enables the agent or scout to evaluate their objectives without being physically present, the invention would give football scouts/agents access to several categories of U-19 footballers with full options and a history of players.
According to NLO’s Media Officer, Abdulgafar Oladimeji, who gave his remark on the innovation while revealing fixtures of the 2023 season, said that the introduction of the technological scouting device was primarily intended to showcase the skills and talents of young footballers in the league to international clubs.
The NLO’s Media Officer revealed that with the invention, interested agents scouting players in the country would readily do so through the Internet. “Gone are the days when international club owners are invited to watch and pick talented players, NLO has come up with a website through which international clubs watch live matched and make their choices of talented players”, he added.
Oladimeji actively promoted media participation in the NLO season this year, as he said that the organization had gone digital and genuine sponsors had contributed sufficient funds to ensure the league’s success. “No football project can prosper without the media. The sponsors come in due to the extent of media coverage. It is now mandatory that any club participating in the NLO league must have a media department”.
According to Oladimeji, eight teams are expected to trade tackles in Kano, likewise, other states in the north, and the top teams in each state would compete against one another in an interstate competition from which four teams will be chosen to represent the north in the national championship.
He assured that the NLO is greatly committed to ensuring that only players within the age bracket stipulated are featured in the league, noting that the organization has introduced anti-forgery processes to hinder the tendencies of fraud and corruption in the licensing process.
