The Integrated Tax Administrative System (ITAS) was created for the Liberia Revenue Authority by firms in Nairobi and Tunisia.

The system is expected to facilitate revenue collection and streamline tax filing.
With technical support from Farsight Africa Group, a strategic communications and technology firm based in Nairobi, Liberia has successfully introduced its new Integrated Tax Administrative System (ITAS).
The system was developed for the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) by Farsight Africa in collaboration with ArabSoft, a Tunisian software company, and will allow for digital registration, online filing, and payment of tax returns. The Liberia Revenue Authority officers who are to implement and support the system have received intensive training on use of the system for country-wide tax collection.
ITAS is expected to boost revenue collection in the country and make tax filing easy and efficient for citizens, therefore reducing the cost of compliance for taxpayers. And by moving tax filing to the digital space, registration can be integrated with real-time authentication with institutions like Liberia’s National Identification Registry (NIRL).
Also, filing returns will be automated and will feature real-time assessments, instant taxpayer feedback, and constant availability of services covering Income Tax (CIT and PIT), withholding taxes, royalties, and all other related government levies. The system will also allow taxpayers to make payments online at their convenience, with integrated banking organizations, mobile platforms, and banking facilities extended to the taxpayers’ premises.
During the launching ceremony of the project, the Project Director, Mr. Joel Gachomo expressed his gratitude toward the team and noted that the achievement demonstrated Farsight’s dedication to inexplicably service quality to its client. He applauded the Liberia Revenue Authority for their teamwork in making available the resources required to execute the project.
Furthermore, the ITAS which is also expected to increase revenue and familiarize Liberians with online services is a step forward in the government’s plan to engage the population digitally in service provision.
