The much-awaited Samia Complex Project is projected to accelerate the brisk pace of Dodoma City in the ensuing months. President Samia Suluhu Hassan announced that the government was pushing forward with yet another project after finalizing her new offices there at a packed event for the opening of the new State House in Dodoma.
She revealed that the project was the eagerly awaited Samia Complex. According to the Head of State, the facility would be distinctive and have a large meeting room that can accommodate 2,000–3,000 people. According to Dr. Samia, the government would construct VIP housing on the property so that extremely important people (VIPs) from the area’s East African Community (EAC) and Southern Africa Development Community could live there comfortably.
The president asserted that the blueprints were complete and construction would soon start. According to her, one of the Samia Complex’s other facilities is a big Zanzibar lounge that will help the government, among other things, promote Zanzibar’s tourist attractions. “We also plan to construct the East Africa Lounge and a golf course”, she said.
She stated that it is envisaged that the Samia Complex will have an airfield where people can come and go as they like. There will also be a sports field and a designated area where visitors and locals can learn about the history of important individuals who shaped the country and the continent.
Vice President Dr. Philip Mpango believes that the official opening of Chamwino State House in Dodoma is a positive milestone in the growth of the country’s upper middle-income economy. He expressed his excitement in the nation’s capital on Saturday, signaling that all government operations had been transferred from Dar es Salaam to Dodoma after President Samia Suluhu Hassan formally opened the new State House.
Dr. Samia claims that the Magogoni State House in Dar es Salaam continues to function as a location for hosting foreign dignitaries and as a hub for business despite the existence of the new State House in Dodoma. She declared that as soon as the ongoing project for the construction of Dodoma’s Msalato Airport is finished, even prominent foreign guests would be docking in Dodoma for official business.
During his approximately four-minute Saturday speech, the Vice President predicted that Tanzania would soon reach a higher economic level. He said, “I would want to use this opportunity to congratulate everyone on the excellent effort that Tanzanians did in building this State House.” He also congratulated all Tanzanians for their contributions to the construction of the recently opened Chamwino State House.
Dr. Mpango asked State House staff members to maintain and secure the recently inaugurated structures at all costs to support the country’s objectives.
President Hussein Mwinyi of Zanzibar commended President Samia for completing the task. He said that the move was intended to put into effect the choice to make Dodoma the nation’s capital, made in 1973 by Mwalimu Julius Nyerere and the Tanganyika African National Union (TANU).
“Right now, we are all experiencing the achievements of carrying out the 1973 TANU’s plan, including today’s event announcing this new State House here in Chamwino and the completion of many different constructions for government offices and infrastructure, including roads, railways, and airports, where all are in various stages of their implementation,” Dr. Mwinyi said.
