Botswana ranks largest diamond producer in Africa and second largest in the world according to NS energy.
In the year 2021, Botswana’s diamond production amounted to nearly 28 million carats, 26% more than the previous year.
In July 2021, they unearthed an exceptionally large and white 1,174 carat diamond stone. With that finding, Botswana became the leader on the world stage of the largest stones.
During the previous month, a diamond firm in Botswana called Debswana was believed to have unearthed the world’s largest diamond in the world weighing 1,098.
In terms of value, Botswana leads the list of the world’s top diamond-producing countries, despite being the second by volume.
