According to tradition’s ODUDUWA was the title holder of the olofin of Ile ife, The yoruba holy City. He ruled briefly in Ife and also served as well as the forefathers of so many royal families in Yoruba land.

His name was written by Yoruba language “ODUDUWA” and sometimes called Ooduwa The name is honored  as that of the hero, the warrior, the leader and also the father of the Yoruba land. Through disagreement and mostly through negotiations lasting for many years to get the throne of Ile ife and become king, Oduduwa held the praise name Olofin adimula.

ORANMIYAN THE SON OF TWO FATHER’S

Oranmiyan was the biological son of Ogun who was the son of oduduwa and his war captain, The misunderstanding that oranmiyan has two father’s was one of the darling part of yoruba history.

The misunderstanding surrounding his birth is due to the fact that both Oduduwa and Ogun had an affair with the same woman called Lakange Anihunka.

Ogun was a warrior whose expectation is to capture Lakange Anihunka but had an affair with her, Oduduwa equally want the woman so he had an affair with her while she was pregnant. The affair led to the birth of Odede whose half of his body looks like Oguns body and the other part looks like Oduduwa’s skin which was difficult to know his biological father. He was so powerful and also a great hunter he led the first military formation in Ile ife.

He was sent by the forth Ooni of Ile Ife to invade Ogodomigodo which is  Benin City with the son of Ogun whose name was Okanbi, The mission was a death mission planned by the king so as to remain on the throne because Oranmiyan was known as a notorious and troublesome warrior.

Oranmiyan later won the battle and decided to  become the first Oba of Benin but his ruling style was not ok with the people of Benin so they decided to put a close eye on him but later went back to his father’s throne.

Oranmiyan later became the sixth king of Ile ife and early Ooni of Ife. He later married Eneka the daughter of Benin King who was the founder of Oba dynasty in Benin.
