In a statement released on Friday, it stated that the Professor was awarded at the 60th convocation ceremony of UNILAG which took place on 18th January, 2023.
It mentioned that Oladeru has been the Head of Department of Mathematics for three years and has brought prestige to the university in 2010, 2013, and 2017.
He relentlessly trained four students of Mathematics who participated at the competition for undergraduate students in all Nigerian universities which was put together by the National Mathematics Center in Abuja.
In addition to being the HoD of Mathematics, he was the chairperson of the committee that created websites for all the Faculties, Department and each Lecturer which was in response to his proposal to the university management on low rating of the university in Webometrics.
The statement also reads that “the University, under Professor Sofoluwe, funded him to take four of our students to the International Competition in Bulgaria where our students came first in Africa. No University in Nigeria has performed that feat since”.
