At the recently concluded Miss Planet International beauty pageant held in the Kingdom of Cambodia, Asia, Zimbabwean model, Jemima Mandemwa was crowned the 1st runner-up.
The beauty pageant consisted of several models from different world countries, which Mandemwa, a graduate of Finance and Banking had to contest against.
Last year at the first Miss Planet Zimbabwe, Mandemwa was crowned queen as she has also bagged three local awards from the Bulawayo Association Ceremony (BMAs).
During the beauty pageant competition, the judges were wowed by Mandemwa’s colorful costume, saying the Victoria waterfalls in Zimbabwe inspired her costume.
She said further explained the design, saying “my national costume is a resemblance of my passion I have as a model at the age of six with a combination of my passion in promoting local tourism in my country, it is called the Victoria Falls Wonder”.
In April last year, at the Miss Environment International Pageant in Mumbai, Mandemwa made her country proud after finishing fourth in a competition of 20 models from various countries.

Jemima Mandemwa is a 23-year-old graduate of the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST). Currently, she is an Environmental activist, Miss Environment, and a former Miss Earth Zimbabwe.
Miss Planet International is an annual worldwide beauty pageant competition for single women, where participants contest for the crown of Miss Planet International on a bigger platform that offers a blend of culture, advocacy, and a high-quality show.
