UNISON Corporate under its subsidiary, UNISON Food Oil Plant built one of the largest food oil factories at Bahir Dar in the Amhara region of Ethiopia.

Production commenced immediately after inauguration which was done on the 14th of November, 2022. The factory has the capacity of producing more than 30,000 liters of oil per day. It uses soy beans, wool, sesame, nuggets,  nuts and other oil seeds as input.

The entire construction and installation of the equipments was done by Ethiopian experts. It was built at the cost of 1.5 billion Birr.

The opening of this factory will contribute to solving shortage of food oil supply in the community.

Apart from solving the shortage problem, it has also curbed the amount of unemployment as it has provided jobs for more than 100 permanent workers and more than 80 temporary workers with the hope of creating more employment opportunities in the future.
